Inspired by the Royal Pavilion located in Brighton, East Sussex, built as a Royal Palace seaside retreat from 1787 for the future King George IV. Heavily influenced by both Chinoiserie and Indian fashion of the time, a prime example of alternative taste versus the mainstream during the Regency period.
This piece reflects pure Chinoiserie exoticism, from the flame red calf leather finish to the solid 9ct gold cabinet latch and censer feet.
